A fossil of a sea creature that belongs to the class of cephalopods was discovered

The research crew belonging to the University of Plymouth has found out that the fossil of an unknown creature that has been found in the Jurassic coast of Southern England is a fossil of a sea creature that belongs to the class cephalopods like a squid or an octopus.
The fossil has been found in the 19th century and been housed in the British Geological Survey in Nottingham.

The researcher told that the fossil was found with a herring-like fish in its jaw. He also mentioned that the latter had 10 arms fully covered with hooks.
The researchers also revealed that the name of the fossilized sea creature is Clarkeiteuthis montefiorei which is a close relative to an extinct squid species known as belemnoid.
